The Loved Ones [Horror Movie Mini-Review]
The Loved Ones is a gruesome film about a prom night gone wrong after a young man, who lost his father in a car accident they were both involved in, rejects a peer's invitation to be her prom date. Said peer likes to torture boys who reject her.
And thus, the plot.
Quite frankly, this 2009 Australian movie is brilliant with its absurd humor and pink-clad, tiara-wearing villain. I can't recommend it enough. If you love relentless horror, check this one out! It's ghoulishly mean-spirited, but there's a heart there too. The film knows how to make you committed to watching and hoping the lead makes it. Also, with some added cannibalism and weird incest vibes, what more could you want?
