Two Writing Hashtags to Check Out

Finding a community can be a daunting task, especially for a writer. There are many options out there, in both real life and the Internet, but writing is often a solitary activity. This can be an obstacle to finding other writers to consistently interact with. In fact, it took me several years to share my writing with anyone. Because of this, I'm going to share two different Twitter communities I love. If you want to connect with other writers, there are two newer hashtags you can check out!

This is a hashtag for neurodivergent writers, or writers with mental illnesses. Writing can be difficult when one struggles with a chronic illness, be it physical, mental, or both, and often, we see attitudes like "writers need to write 1,000 words a day to be real™ writers." That, or "suck it up." You won't find anything of the sort in this hashtag. You'll find people who understand your struggles and find you worthy.

This also has a companion hashtag called #writersinthedark.

Feel like you're a slow writer? Having trouble finishing your latest masterpiece? Check out #turtlewriters. It is, as the turtle symbol suggests, for those who write slowly. The amount of encouragement and support you'll receive is astounding. It's important to know the anxieties and bumps in the roads you face are issues others face and conquer. With support, you can learn to excel. Or should I say...exshell?

Sorry.

Are there any writing hashtags you love using? Let me know!
